A journey of collaboration.

It began with songs that Pete wrote, then it grew into co-writing songs with his producer, Nick Bullock. Then, once he entered the recording studio and started to track with the musicians, he knew the music was bigger than himself.

From his favorite character in a series of books by Irish author Caimh McDonnel, the alias Bunny McGarry and The Nashville Hurlers was formed.

The Nashville Hurlers are the musicians that have collaborated on his records. Hurlers, coming from the sport hurling, Pete deepens the narrative inspired by the same collection of books and character Bunny.

Working with the musicians “…made me feel like they weren’t struggling. They were so talented, they had it covered. I never felt like it could just be by Pete Gillespie. I felt so much like it wasn’t just me anymore. It was about me and the musicians. It didn’t feel right taking the credit solo, it was more a group effort.”

Pete has accrued a collection of recorded songs that he plans to release in 2-3 records, over the next several years.
